The winery is located in Chenas, a stone's throw from the Fleurie border and the renowned Poncie vineyard, and today encompasses 18 hectares spread among the crus of Chenas, Fleurie, Morgon, and Moulin-a-Vent.
Anita's goal from the outset was to produce wines of minimal intervention that express site character with maximal clarity. Her staggeringly dense plantings-10,000 vines per hectare-range from 40 to 100 years old, providing her with enviable raw materials which she treats with utmost care, intervening with chemicals only to save a crop. She even uses a horse to plow her oldest holdings, a nod to the pre-technological era in which these vineyards were first planted.
A battalion of small cement tanks allows her to vinify each parcel separately, according to its character and its needs; nothing is performed by rote, and she varies proportions of whole clusters, durations of maceration, and percentages of oak barrels (from Aloxe-Corton, and always used for at least three years before purchase) to best suit the potential of each batch of fruit. Fermentations proceed spontaneously, exclusively in cement, and sulfur is kept to a reasonable minimum and applied only after malolactic fermentation.
Anita's wines exude liveliness and vigor, capturing the essence of Gamay grown in great sites, yet nearly transcending the category in their incorporation of fine, close-focus mineral elements. A sense of subtlety and refinement permeates the lineup, yet the wines read as direct, pure, and unpolished; they are neither ultra-natural in feel nor clunkily structured in a wannabe-Burgundy manner.

2021 Morgon Chateau Gaillard- 96 pts
So ripe and so graceful, this is a staggering wine for 2021 that shows what was possible if you had old vines, you did everything right in the vineyard during the growing season, and then you hit the ideal harvest date. The balance of concentration and the super-fine tannins must be tasted to be believed. And the stony minerality at the finish is off the scale. Great aging potential! Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
2021 Fleurie Poncie - 93 pts
A very elegant, floral and focused Fleurie with an excellent combination of lacy lightness and mineral density. Underplayed power and plenty of finesse, just like you expect from Fleurie in an excellent year, but this is from the challenging 2021 vintage! Drink or hold.
2021 Moulin-a-Vent La Rochelle - 98 pts
Tasting this feels like standing on a beach, then being hit by a giant wave and carried away, but in the most delightful way. Great sour cherry and black cherry fruit plus a stack of very fine tannins and a slew of spicy notes. From 40-50 year-old vines in weathered granite. Very long fermentation on the skins, then almost a year in Burgundian oak. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.
2021 Moulin-a-Vent Coeur de Vigneronne - 100 pts Imagine gorging yourself on a whole handful of the ripest wild blackberries and that is the beginning of this great journey! On the palate there's a breathtaking interplay of mineral freshness with a small ocean of berry fruit and super-fine tannins. An endless finish that's so complex and so vibrant it makes you glad to be alive. Decades of aging potential. Drink or hold.
2021 Moulin-a-Vent Riene de Nuit - 97 pts
This majestic Moulin-a-Vent marries very ripe forest berry aromas with stunning salty minerality, and the enormous freshness makes it extremely vibrant and exciting. The very long, super-fine finish makes you wonder why this appellation isn't as famous as Burgundy's finest. From a parcel next to the winery that belongs to the site Les Caves and ripens very early. Drink or hold.
