Yprésien is an Extra Brut cuvée that captures the geological essence of soils formed 56–48 million years ago in Vandières and Verneuil, where layers of marl, clay, sand, and sandstone shape its distinctive character. Composed predominantly of Meunier (80%) with Pinot Noir (20%) from the 2020 harvest, it is crafted with artisanal precision—aged 12 months in oak barrels and 42 months on lees, without dosage or corrective treatments. Limited to just 3,583 bottles, Yprésien offers a vibrant tasting experience marked by dried fruit, citrus peel, white spices, and tobacco on the nose, leading to a dry, structured palate with saline minerality, chalky depth, and a long, incisive finish—a Champagne that expresses both precision and the enduring memory of its ancient terroir.
Legrand-Latour Champagne Legrand-Latour is a family-run estate in Fleury-la-Rivière, rooted in four generations of viticultural tradition and a passion for Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Deeply connected to their unique terroir in the Vallée de la Marne—rich in marine fossils and mineral subsoil—the estate follows a geo-enological philosophy led by Thibault Legrand, who continues his father’s dedication to uncovering and understanding the geological history beneath their vineyards. This commitment is reflected in their “underground geological museum,” a cellar built among excavated fossils from the Cretaceous and Palaeocene eras, which informs their precise, terroir-driven winemaking style.
