Wine Explorers Club - Emmanuel Rouget Cros Parantoux 2pk - 2014 and 2015
The historic plot made famous by Henri Jayer, the tradition carried on brilliantly by his descendants.

The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux, raised entirely in new oak, has a very clean and precise, yet incredibly intense bouquet, layers of red and black fruit loaded with minerals, all with wonderful precision. The palate is extremely precise, perhaps one of the nose I have encountered in recent years, with laser-like focus, perfect acidity and a gentle grip on the Richebourg-like finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a stunning Cros Parantoux, stunning. (NM)

The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Cros Parantoux, of which there are seven barrels this year, has a beautifully defined bouquet, very pure and precise with wild strawberry, limestone, rose petal and a touch of blood orange. You miss a heartbeat just nosing this wine. The palate is precise, refined and very pure, a silver bead of acidity, so much energy on the finish as it fans out in graceful fashion. There is incredible persistence here, a brilliant Cros Parantoux with which Uncle Henri would have been proud. [Neal Martin, 09/28/2017]
